Colombo (News1st): Two people who maintained contact with the third person to die of COVID-19 in Sri Lanka have tested positive for the virus, health officials said Thursday.

Issuing a statement, Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe stated that four patients were diagnosed with the virus today, raising the total number of patients to 150.

Statistics issued by the Ministry of Health show that 126 people suspected to have contracted the virus are under medical supervision, with 21 recovered cases so far.

Hours after the third death was reported late Wednesday, health officials took steps to isolate 18 flat houses in Maradana, including that of the third deceased.

The family members who had resided with the third deceased were directed to the National Institute of Infectious Diseases in Angoda.
