Israel announces PM Modi visit

Israel has announced the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will be the first Indian Prime Minister to visit the Jewish state since New Delhi established diplomatic relations with Tel Aviv in 1992. The visit will take place July 4-6.

Israel has announced the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will be the first Indian Prime Minister to visit the Jewish state since New Delhi established diplomatic relations with Tel Aviv in 1992. The visit will take place July 4-6. 
 
The visit is at the invitation of the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. It will include a call on the Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, who had visited India earlier this year, and a working meeting and dinner with the Israeli Prime Minister. It will also include high-level bilateral meetings and other various components which reflect the diverse fabric of the Indo-Israeli relations, the Israeli Embassy said.
 
The visit takes place in the backdrop of marking 25 years of diplomatic relations between India and Israel, and will further upgrade the ever growing partnership between the two countries, the embassy said.
