An even better performance could be achieved if port congestion were totally eliminated
 
The dynamism of our exporting sector is nothing if not admirable.
 
A 27% boost in export earnings, led by the tremendous performance of the RMG sector, is good news for the economy, and testament to the difference that can be made with timely action on the government’s part.
 
Some steps have been taken to ease congestion at Chittagong port, and we are seeing the results. An even better performance could be achieved if port congestion were totally eliminated.
 
This means not just bringing in new and better machinery, but also building a new port. In the long run, complete reliance on Chittagong port will not be sustainable.
