Sri Lanka’s state-owned film corporation on Wednesday said it would distribute Rs 100,000 among cinema halls for three months.

The aid comprises Rs 50,000 for maintenance and salary expenses, and the remainder, an interest-free loan which can be repaid in installments.

The National Film Corporation, in a statement said, the Rs 5000 worth monthly allowance for artistes will be granted before the third of every month.

Meanwhile, Cine Star foundation, the only organisation dedicated to the cinema industry, has also commenced a programme to distribute dry rations and medicines. worth Rs 5000.
