Japan and Bhutan sign grant worth 174 million Japanese Yen

Ambassador of Bhutan to Japan Vetsop Namgyel and the Ambassador of Japan to Bhutan Satoshi Suzuki signed the exchange of notes for a project grant in New Delhi yesterday.

Japan government provided a grant of 174 million Japanese Yen under Japan’s official development assistance (ODA) scheme for the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship.

The project will provide scholarship to acquire a Masters or a Doctoral degree in Japanese higher educational institutes to young public service officers under the Royal Civil Service Commission.

This project is expected to enhance the capacity of policymaking in Bhutan. It is also expected to contribute to further strengthening the excellent co-operation and bond of friendship between the two countries.
