545 new COVID-19 cases reported in Afghanistan
Afghanistan's Ministry of Public Health reported 545 new positive cases of COVID-19 out of 1,168 samples tested in the last 24 hours, bringing the total cases in the country to 15,750
Kabul: Afghanistan's Ministry of Public Health reported 545 new positive cases of COVID-19 out of 1,168 samples tested in the last 24 hours, bringing the total cases in the country to 15,750. The ministry also reported eight COVID-19 deaths and 100 recovered patients in the last 24 hours.
For the first time in more than two weeks, cases from Kabul --66--decreased.
Elsewhere, positive cases were reported in Herat (117), Paktia (92), Nangarhar (50), Samangan (48), Farah (36), Sar-e-Pul (22), Balkh (4), Badghis (2), Takhar (14), Logar (17), Wardak (12), Bamiyan (20), Laghman (2), Ghor (14), Faryab (12), Kunar (3) and Badakhshan (14).
The total number of known deaths is 265 and recovered cases is 1,428.
So far, the ministry has tested 39,628 samples countrywide.
The total active cases in the country is 14,057, out of 15,750, the total accumulated confirmed cases.
The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 372,303 and the number of global coronavirus cases is 6,181,781, according to Johns Hopkins University.
