Afghanistan and India on Sunday signed five Memorandums of Understanding, based on which, New Delhi donates 2.6 million dollars to the Afghan ministries of education and higher education.

Mostafa Mastoor Minister of Economy and Vinay Kumar Indian Ambassador to Kabul signed in the MoUs on Sunday.

The donated money would be used to build two schools in Badakhshan province, one school in Khost province and some buildings for education department in Farah province.

Mastoor said that five projects donated by Indian government were implemented and are being implemented in 34 provinces at a total cost of 120 million dollars.

The projects would complete by next year, according to government officials.

Ambassador Kumar said that his country has donated three billion dollars to reconstruction of Afghanistan in the past two decades.

He said total OF 400 projects were run by India in Afghanistan, including the new building of parliament in Kabul as well as the construction of Salma hydropower dam in Herat province.

Indian government also provides 1,000 educational scholarships for Afghan students every year.
