India's BSF guns down Bangladeshi in Chapainawabganj

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel shot a Bangladeshi national at Telkupi border area under Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj district early today, Tolo News said.  The deceased was identified as Jahangir Alam (42), son of Ainal Haque, a resident of the upazila, reports our local correspondent quoting Lt Colonel Mahmudul Hasan, captain of BGB-59 battalion.

BSF men shot Jahangir when he went into the Indian Territory to collect grass at around 9:45am, he said, adding that the victim succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

Later, locals rescued the body and handed it over to the family members.

Captain Mahmudul said they are investigating on how the victim entered into the Indian Territory.
