Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa says that Sri Lanka will become a hub of global innovation.

hE was speaking at the launch of the HCL Technologies' first Global Distribution Center in Sri Lanka.

"As a nation it is a great honor to welcome a multinational technology giant like HCL," he said.

“As you are aware, the new government has given priority to the ICT sector to make Sri Lanka a global hub of innovation through a knowledge and technology based society. Our vision is to implement Sri Lanka under a technologically comprehensive digitalization policy,” he said.

Accordingly, the new government is working on a number of other initiatives, including the establishment of a citizen-centric digitalized government and the promotion of IT entrepreneurship.
