Indian High Commissioner Sunjay Sudhir, on Monday, inaugurated the 'Kolhufushi streetlights project' in Meemu Atoll.
The virtual inauguration ceremony was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid, as well as Kolhufushi Island Council's President Hussain Shamil.
Financed by a grant assistance of MVR 1.5 million, the government of Maldives installed a total of 115 street lights on the island.
During the ceremony, High Commissioner Sudhir remarked that the Kolhufushi Project was a "perfect candidate for inclusion in India's High-Impact Community Development Project scheme" under which several projects are being implemented in Maldives.
