The Pakistan Coast Guard (PCG) and the Army have recovered ice heroin worth millions of dollars during a joint operation in Balochistan province.

In a statement late Wednesday, the PCG said that the armed forces conducted a raid at the mountainous terrain of Pasni district and recovered 99 kg of high-quality ice heroin from camels apparently carrying packaged goods, Xinhua news agency reported.

The cost of the drugs in the international market is about 3 billion PKR ($18 million), and they were being transferred to some foreign country via sea route, it said.

The law enforcers arrested the camel owner, who was suspected to be a smuggler and further investigations are being made from him.

The PCG said that they have enhanced raids and patrolling along with the coastal areas on the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan to stop drug trafficking.
