Colombo (ECONOMYNEXT): Sri Lanka’s total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 rose to 185 as of the morning of April 8 after seven new cases were confirmed yesterday, the Ministry of Health said.
One more death of a COVID-19 patient was announced on Tuesday, bringing the death toll to 6, a fatality percentage of 3.24% which is below the global death rate of 5.69 per cent but nearly double the rate in Germany.
No details of the deceased patient were released by the authorities.
Four patients were discharged from various hospitals after making a full recovery bringing the total recovered to 42 a recovery rate of 22.7 per cent which is slightly higher than the global rate which is 21.37 per cent.
Recovery rates in Germany are at over 34 per cent while in the USA it is 5.52 per cent.
