Piyankara Jayaratne, Sri Lanka's State Minister for Foreign Employment Promotion and Market Diversification says that steps will be taken to re-examine the criteria recommended for approving the family background report required for women to apply for foreign employment and to adapt it to the present.

He said that as different criteria are implemented from district to district, steps will be taken to publish it in a formal circular.

The State Minister expressed these views while participating in a workshop held at the Puttalam District Secretariat recently to educate the Development Officers of his Ministry.
