Organizing sporting events with direct physical contact and zero social distancing will not be permitted, announced Sri Lanka's Education Ministry adding the decision was made as the risk of COVID-19 remains.

Sporting events in schools are classified into 04 categories based on the risk for participants.

The Education Ministry said considering the pandemic situation and current epidemiological situation in the country only sports where physical distancing can be clearly maintained or Individual Sports will be allowed.
