Colombo: The number of confirmed cases of COVID 19 patients in Sri Lanka has surged to 233 with the addition of 15 new cases detected yesterday April 14, the government announced last night. A press release issued by the Department of Information said that all the new cases have been found at various quarantine centres.

Fourteen of the new cases are people “who have closely associated with COVID 19 patients,” the statement released at 10.30 pm last night said.

Eight of them were at the Palali Quarantine Centre while four were at the Mulankovil centre.

One was from the Puttalam centre, the release said.
