Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa paid tribute to the people who led his party Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) to a great victory believing in the party’s political policies.

The Prime Minister pointed out that SLPP is on the cusp of achieving the greatest victory of any political party in Sri Lanka’s history. He said the victory means the approval of the policies of his party by the people and he is committed to implement the pro-people policies founding on the outstanding victory.

“Heartfelt gratitude to all Sri Lankans for placing their trust in President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, myself and the Podujana Party and voting for the ‘Saubhagye Dakkama’ election manifesto in overwhelming numbers. We will ensure Sri Lanka will not stand disappointed during our tenure,” the Prime Minister said in a Twitter message.
