Colombo (News1st): Health authorities have confirmed the country’s seventh death due to COVID 19, as the number of affected patients rose to 188.

The deceased was a 44-year old gem businessman in Mount Lavinia who had been receiving treatment at the IDH Hospital, director general of health services Dr. Anil Jasinghe said.

He added that the patient had returned to Sri Lanka following a tour in Germany.

Earlier today, the National Operation Centre for COVID – 19 said that three people, who had associated with a coronavirus patient had tested positive for the virus.

According to the ministry of health, there are 140 active cases with the number of recoveries standing at 42.
