Colombo: State-run SriLankan Airlines will continue suspension of scheduled flights at least until May 15, while cargo and special rescue flights would continue.
“The Airlines’ cargo services will continue to operate from its worldwide network, facilitating essential supplies of medical resources, equipment as well as perishable cargo in support of governments and industries,” the airline said.
“Continuing to reach out to fellow Sri Lankans in need, SriLankan Airlines will operate special passenger flights as and when required.”
SriLankan has run rescue flights for trapped students in Pakistan, Nepal and India.
It has also operated rescue flights for other nations.
SriLankan Airlines has cut salaries and also negotiated deferrals of lease payments, officials said.
