Male (ECONOMYNEXT)– Maldives is sending an aircraft to Sri Lanka to evacuates its citizens in the island as a Coronavirus pandemic is sweeping the world.
Sri Lanka’s main airport is not permitting inbound passengers but is open for cargo and outgoing passengers until March 23.
The Island Aviation flight is due to arrive in Colombo on March 25 and leave at 1420 with Maldivian living in Sri Lanka.
Many Maldivians live in Sri Lanka for business and also to educate their children, while others visit.
Many airports in the region are closed or partially closed. (Colombo/Mar24/2020)
