The Ruling Party Parliamentary Group has approved a proposal presented by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa to take measures to end cattle slaughter.

Prime Minister Rajapaksa made the proposal to end cattle slaughter when ruling party parliamentary group met Tuesday at the Parliament Complex.

The Premier said it was a proposal mooted a long time ago, but no government made it to a law.
