The 20th Amendment to the Constitution was presented to the Cabinet today (02) and the Cabinet of Ministers have granted approval to present the legislation to the parliament.
The bill was presented by Justice Minister Ali Sabry at a Cabinet meeting chaired by President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa this afternoon (02).
The 20th Amendment to the Constitution is due to be gazetted tonight (02) and will be tabled in Parliament in about two weeks, reports say.
