Support Independent Thinking on South Asia: Donate to South Asia Monitor
In a world saturated with fake news, dubious information and unsolicited opinions, informed and in-depth critical analysis and opinion on issues about and concerning South Asia - comprising India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Afghanistan and the Maldives - is more vital than ever. Our region is home to a quarter of the world's population with a majority being part of a young and aspiring demography.
South Asia has complex geopolitical dynamics, and rapidly evolving political, economic, environmental, social and cultural events animate the region, that is demographically and economically dominated by India. This flux demands objective, knowledge-based analysis and interpretation from independent scholars, thinkers and domain experts.
Mission of South Asia Monitor (SAM).
SAM is a unique platform that brings you informed perspectives from the most astute thinkers and practitioners drawn from the world of government, diplomacy, armed forces, academia, media and strategic community. In a political climate where information and news about the region is increasingly ideologically coloured and political discussions are dominated by shrill and raucous television debates, SAM provides a fresh and persuasively reasoned perspective on news and policies that are shaping South Asia and the larger Indo Pacific region.
SAM is a platform of the Society for Policy Studies (SPS), a not-for-profit organization, free of corporate or political interests, run by former media leaders, military veterans and area experts, with a shared interest in policy deliberations, regional issues and an informed analysis of strategic affairs. We seek to encourage and provide a platform for young voices from South Asia - and the South Asian diaspora - the stakeholders of the region.
Why Your Donation is Critical
We are not funded by corporations nor driven by political and ideological interests. As a nonprofit digital media organization, our sole obligation is to present fresh thinking and have ideas exchanged on this strategically important region, and its extended Indo-Pacific geography where China's role is critical, that is now the focus of big powers and the global strategic community.
Hence, we rely on the generosity of contributors/region watchers like you to cover the rising costs of our basic operations— salaries of our small editorial/tech backend team involved in editing/ fact-checking to tech/digital support. Without your support, the future of SAM as an independent entity is in peril.
Your contributions will directly benefit the quality of information and analysis we are able to curate and share, and give it more heft and visibility as a go-to window on our region.
Your donation is not a subscription—it is an investment in independent and critical thinking, vital in today's agenda-driven media and information landscape.
Currently we can only accept donations from India in INDIAN RUPEES.
If you are making a direct bank transfer, please mail sameditor.sps@gmail.com with your full name, phone number, the donation amount and the transaction ID so that we can acknowledge and thank you personally for your support.
