Former Maldives president and current speaker, Nasheed Wednesday evening called “India out” protesters in the Maldives extremists. His comments came in the backdrop of recent protests by some people in the Maldives seeking departure of Indian Military personnel from the country.
The Defence Ministry, earlier, refused to divulge the exact number of Indian Military Personnel present in the country citing the national interests and diplomatic relations. India which operates two helicopters and has maintained some military presence in the island nation.
Nasheed also claimed that extremist organisations have organised these “India out” protests in Maldives.
