Male: Former Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom was brought in for questioning by Maldives Police Service in connection to additional investigations which have been opened against him.

Yameen, who is already serving a 15-year prison sentence for money laundering, was taken to the Maldives Police Service headquarters at 2 pm on Thursday, Sun reported.

Former Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed, one of Yameen’s legal representatives, previously confirmed that the police had opened two new investigations against him, but declined to disclose the nature of the two investigations.
