Piyush Goyal calls on Bhutanese King, PM

Thimpu: India's Union Minister for Commerce and Industries Piyush Goyal called on the King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck here.

"After an  audience with His Majesty The King, Commerce Minister HE
@PiyushGoyal called on Prime Minister Dr Lotay Tshering this afternoon," Official twitter handle of Bhutanese Prime Minister Dr Lotay Tshering tweeted.

It further said,"Pertinent issues in areas of trade, transportation and health were discussed."

After the meeting Goyal, who is heading a high-level business delegation in connection with Bhutan - India Start-Up Summit tweeted "We discussed steps to further deepen our economic & investment ties by nurturing a vibrant startup ecosystem in Bhutan."

Among the "concrete derivables" that emerged as a consequence of the meetings, Indian Embassy in Bhutan said, "Based on the request of Bhutan, the Railway Board has commissioned a survey to establish the Mujnai(India)-Nyoenpaling (Bhutan) line that will provide a cross border rail link between India and Bhutan."

The two sides also discussed designation and notification of new transit customs station at Jogighopa, Pandu and Agartala.
