Foreign ministers of Australia, India, Japan and the United States met in Tokyo on October 6-7, a second time at the ministerial level of the Quad. Formed in 2007, it went into hibernation for various factors. The study examines India’s suspicions about a US-led alliance to counter China; India’s clarity on the geopolitical imperatives of the Quad that stands in contrast to its ambiguity on the geo-economic initiatives.
