Chinese State Councilor and Defence Minister Wei Fenghe, now on a visit to Bangladesh at a time the two nations are in discussion over COVID-19 vaccine cooperation, paid tributes to the nation’s founder and its first president Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Dhaka on Tuesday.
He also signed the visitors' book kept at the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in Dhanmondi area, Dhaka Tribune reported.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam and Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jiming accompanied the visiting Chinese minister to the memorial museum.
Fenghe arrived here on Tuesday morning on an official visit.
He will meet President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban, and also have a meeting with Chief of Bangladesh Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed, the report said.
Fenghe is likely to go to Colombo, Sri Lanka from Dhaka on Tuesday before heading back to Beijing.
