The Bangladesh government is considering launching a dedicated television channel for students, Education Minister Dipu Moni told parliament.

Responding to a question, the minister said the dedicated channel would enable students take part in the digital classes throughout the year

The minister said in-person classes at universities will start after students are vaccinated.

All university students will be brought under the inoculation program on priority in line with Prime Minister Shaik Hasina’s instructions.

She also said the immunization program will begin with residential students. The dormitories will be opened after the residential students are vaccinated and then, classes will begin, the minister said.

The minister said online classes are being held in all universities now. Examinations are also being taken online at private universities, she said.

She informed parliament that out of 20,499 schools, 15,676 are taking classes online while 700, out of 4,238 colleges, have started online classes.
