Male: Maldives' Health Protection Agency (HPA) has confirmed a Maldivian citizen has been placed under isolation upon return home from Italy to monitor the person for possible symptoms of the deadly COVID-19 virus.

The person in question returned to Maldives this Thursday, Sun reported.

“Work on isolating a Maldivian citizen who returned to Maldives from Italy today, to monitor the person for COVID-19, is in progress,” said HPA.

Italy is the epicenter of Europe’s coronavirus outbreak. More than 3,000 have been infected and at least 107 have died, the most of any country outside China, where the illness began.
