Afghan parliament on Saturday approved the candidature of ten nominees for various ministries, including a woman for the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, TOLOnews reported.

All ten members had earlier this week presented their vision and plans for the country in the parliament. 249 out of total 248 members of the parliament were present on Saturday.

Haneef Atmar was approved for the foreign ministry, Asadullah Khalid for the defense ministry, and Massoud Andrabi for the interior ministry.

Masooma Khawari, the only woman nominee, was approved as the minister of communication and information technology.

For approval, a nominee needed at least 124 votes in the parliament. 13 more nominees are yet to be approved for different ministries and independent agencies, including the important National Directorate of Security (NDS) and the Central Bank.
