Kabul: The deadly coronavirus is unprecedentedly breaking out in Afghanistan, with the latest reports suggesting that 866 positive tests in the past 24 hours.

Now, according to official reports, the total number of coronavirus patients is 14,525.

The Ministry of Public Health says that the recent cases are 411 in Kabul, 177 in Herat, 39 in Balkh, 35 in Nangarhar, 29 in Takhar, 28 in Paktia, 27 in Parwan, 26 in Badghis, 19 in Logar, 19 in Baghlan, 16 in Kunduz, 15 in Kapisa, 10 in Ghazni, six in Panjshir, four in Badakhshan, three in Wardak and two in Faryab provinces.

The ministry said Saturday that Kabul and Herat had the most positive cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

It added that three patients died in the past 24 hours with which the total number of those dead of the virus reaches to 249.

According to the ministry, 44 patients were recovered in the past 24 hours. Totally 1,303 people have been recovered.
