COVID-19: 35,988 known cases in Afghanistan

Afghanistan's Ministry of Public Health on Friday reported 60 new positive cases of COVID-19 out of 557 samples tested over the last 24 hours.

The ministry also reported 14 deaths and 52 recoveries.

The total number of known cases of COVID-19 is 35,988 while there are 24,573 recoveries.

The new cases were reported in Kabul (7), Herat (18), Kandahar (1), Bamiyan (11), Nangarhar (1), Badghis (6), Kunduz (4), Badakhshan (1), Parwan (1), Laghman (1), Kunar (5), Panjshir (2), and Kapisa (2).

The deaths were reported in Kabul (13) and Helmand (1), according to data provided by the Ministry of Public Health on Friday.

The total deaths reached 1,225, the data shows, adding that so far 85,970 samples have been tested countrywide.

Data by the Public Health Ministry indicates that there are 10,190 active cases of COVID-19 in the country.
