Afghan forces retakes Kunduz base from Taliban, 22 killed

At least 12 Afghan security forces’ members and 10 Taliban fighters were killed between Thursday to Friday in a fight that ensued over the control of the Bala Sahib military in the northern province of Kunduz in Afghanistan. 

The base fell to Taliban fighters for a brief period when the insurgent group attacked the base on Thursday night killing 12 security forces’ members. Later Afghan forces, in a counter-attack, retook the control of the strategically important base. 

The report on TOLOnews, citing sources, said at least 10 security forces' members were also wounded in the operation. 

In a separate incident, two members of security forces were also killed in an IED car bomb attack that took place in Paghman district of Kabul province on Friday.
