Dhaka: Bangladesh has recorded another 15 deaths from the coronavirus in the 24 hours to 8am on Friday, raising the total count to 75.

The tally of infections rose to 1,838 after another 266 new cases were detected in the same period, Health Minister Zahid Malik said on Friday.
 
Friday’s death count sets a daily record in Bangladesh.  
 
Globally, more than 2.14 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus and 143,744 have died, according to a Reuters tally.
 
Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.
