The Bangladesh government has decided to extend the ongoing closure of all secondary and higher secondary educational institutions till June 30, as a preventive measure against the further spread of Covid 19.
The decision will also be applicable for Ebtedayee and Qawmi madrasas, The Daily Star reported.
After consultation with the concerned advisory committee, the education ministry took the decision considering the safety and security of students, teachers, employees and guardians as different regions of the country are witnessing a surge in coronavirus cases and partial lockdowns have been imposed.
Earlier, the government had decided to reopen schools and colleges, in phases, from June 13.
