The Patuakhali administration has prepared 800 shelters in the area for combating a possible cyclone in Bangladesh triggered by a depression in Bay the Bengal. 

Six thousand volunteers and 110 medical teams are also ready for any escalation of the situation, said Md Matiul Islam Chowdhury, district administrator of Patuakhali, during an urgent meeting at his office last night.

"We have also stored Tk 2 lakh cash and 285 metric tonne rice," the DA added.
