Dhaka: A total of 4,253 armed forces members and their families have tested positive for Covid-19, an Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) press release said yesterday.

Last week, 713 members of the forces tested positive for the novel coronavirus and eight retired armed forces members died of the infection, the release said.

To mark the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Army has launched month-long special healthcare services for pregnant women at different regions of the country.

A total of 665 patients have so far received the services and samples have been collected from 35 people for Covid-19 testing. The services will be offered till July 9, the ISPR release added.
