A California-based digital transformation solutions company has announced the expansion of the workforce at its Bengaluru center to over 6000 employees.
UST has been on an expansion spree lately and has been increasing its workforce in thousands. Recently the company added over 2000 employees since February 2020, the post-pandemic era, Indica news said. 

In line with the company’s accelerated growth strategy, UST Bengaluru center plans to double the number of employees to 12,000 by 2023.

The tech company is planning to expand its local presence in India to attract the best talents.

“In the next 18-24 months, the Bengaluru center will hire freshers (entry-level engineering graduates) and experienced engineers for various roles focusing on products and services for healthcare, technology, logistics, semiconductors, and BFSI (Banking and Financial Services and Insurance) clients,” the company said in a statement.

In addition to this, the company’s Hyderabad office recently celebrated the enrolment of its 1000th employee and announced its plans to double the headcount at the center to 2000 employees within the next two years.

With California as its base, it has offices across 25 countries and over 35 offices. UST has dedicated software delivery centers in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Pune, Coimbatore, Hosur, and Delhi NCR.

UST also announced its plans to hire over 10,000 new employees this year across the globe, with digital proficiencies and critical skills in Digital Transformation, Cybersecurity, Cloud Infrastructure, Java, Data Science & Engineering, Application Development and Modernization, AI/ML, Automation (RPA/IPA).

Meanwhle, IIT Bombay is the first target for the US-based IT firm Cohesity and first-time recruiter Glean, who are looking forward to enticing students to grab the highly anticipated “US placements” on day one of the placement season. Cohesity is expected to offer the highest package of Rs 1.46 crore (or 1,95,000 USD), followed by Glean, which has a package of Rs 1.12 crore (or 1,50,000 USD) on offer. These packages also include incentives and other stock options, Indica news said.

The annual placement season will kick-off virtually at all the major IITs on December 1. After a slow season last year in the pandemic, students are expecting this year’s placements to start on a good note.

While cloud data management company Rubrik too will be offering a US role for a package of Rs 75 lakh (or 1,00,000 USD), HiLabs is yet to confirm.

Most of the top software roles are usually taken by students from computer science and engineering, followed by electronic students.

A couple of firms offering US roles are also planning to recruit from the campus. Microsoft, which usually picks students for international profiles, has confirmed only domestic ones for this year’s placements, said a final-year student. “Direct US placements have anyway declined in the past few years, irrespective of the pandemic,” he added.

Among the Japanese firms, offering attractive packages are Sony Japan, Hyundai (research & development) and Rakuten.

Other IT majors such as Apple, Google, Oracle, Uber, will be visiting the campus (virtually) only with domestic roles. Regular recruiters from the consulting and investment banking sectors such as the BCG, Bain, McKinsey, Blackstone, will be among the day-one recruiters (SAM)
