Litterateurs, theatre and movie artists and cultural activists have announced street protests against the KP Sharma Oli government’s move of dissolving the House of Representatives, which they have termed "regressive."

Individuals from various creative fields, issuing a statement on Tuesday, announced ‘Srastandolan-2077’ with the formation of coordination and secretariat teams to prepare programmes of protests.

In the statement, they have said that by taking a ‘regressive move’ Oli tried to undermine the achievements of the 2006 people’s movement and push the nation towards authoritarianism.
