Under attack from opposition leaders over the shortage of food items and prices hike, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan ordered the relevant authorities to ensure timely supply of food items in the market, Dawn news reported

Under attack from opposition leaders over the shortage of food items and prices hike, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan ordered the relevant authorities to ensure timely supply of food items in the market, Dawn news reported. 

Prime Minister Khan met with the Minister for National Food Security, Syed Fakhar Imam, and took the detailed briefing from him on the matter. Prime Minister Khan also rapped his economic team for failing to manage the crisis and giving the opposition an issue to question the government. 

During the meeting, Imran Khan also stressed on introducing modern seed technology to improve productivity.  

“The prime minister expressed his dissatisfaction over the food crisis and inflation and was of the view that his economic team had so far failed to give a robust response to the opposition’s allegations,” Dawn quotes a participant of the meeting. 

In an effort to reach out to the people, Khan also instructed his team to have more media interactions in order to inform people about the steps taken by the government to address the people.
