Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday commended the decision made by his Sri Lankan counterpart, permitting the burial of Muslims who died of COVID-19.

Sri Lanka’s Premier Mahinda Rajapaksa Wednesday in parliament said the government, which followed a strict policy of cremating bodies of all COVID-19 victims disregarding religious preferences, will allow the burial of Muslims who died of novel coronavirus disease.

Taking to Twitter Prime Minister Khan welcomed the Prime Minister Rajapaksa’s assurance to allow burial of Muslim victims
