Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa said his objective is to further enhance bilateral relations with regional states in identified sectors.

He made this comment when the new High Commissioner for Bangladesh, Tareq Mohamed Ariful Islam, handed over his credentials to President Rajapaksa on Monday (11).

Gotabaya pointed out the potential of further enhancing maritime cooperation among countries in the Indian Ocean Region adding Sri Lanka would priority to such endeavors.
