Colombo: Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 cases total increased to 1,620 Saturday with 62 more persons testing positive for the coronavirus, the Health Ministry said.

According to the Epidemiology Unit report updated at 11:55 pm Saturday, 829 confirmed patients are receiving treatment at hospitals while 55 individuals are currently under investigations in hospitals.

Ten patients have died while 781 patients including the Chinese tourist, who was the first COVID-19 case detected in the country in January, have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

A total of 62,208 PCR tests have been conducted to detect Covid-19 infected persons from February 18 to May 29, according to the Health Promotion Bureau report.
