Sri Lanka Navy arrested 30 men for trying to illegally migrate to a foreign country in Samindugama on Thursday and Friday.
The arrests were made during a special operation carried out jointly with the Coast Guard, a navy statement said.
Fourteen individuals were nabbed on Thursday, on suspicion they were trying to migrate to another country by sea. The house owner who provided lodging to the suspects was also arrested, News1st reported.
Following the further search, another 15 people were arrested on Friday for allegedly attempting the same offense,
All those arrested have been identified as residents of Jaffna, Batticaloa, Mullaitivu, and Puttalam areas.
