India recorded 120,000 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, the lowest daily count in the past 58 days, as per the Ministry of Health released data on Saturday.
The country also witnessed 3380 fresh deaths due to the virus in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 344,082.
On a sustained downward slope, India's active caseload further decreased to 1.5 million, decreasing by 80,745 in the last 24 hours, the ministry said.
More than 26.7 million have recovered from COVID infection across the country so far, IBNS reported.
More daily recoveries than daily new cases reported for 23 consecutive days. Steady continuous increase in national recovery rate, stands at 93.38% today.
Weekly positivity rate currently stands at 6.89%, read a government-released statement.
Daily positivity rate further dips to 5.78%, less than 10% for 12 consecutive days (SAM).
