India records 67,208 fresh COVID-19 cases in past 24 hours, 2330 deaths

India once again witnessed a rise in daily COVID-19 count as 67,208 cases were registered in the past 24 hours, data released by the Ministry of Health showed.  After a significant decline, India witnessed a rise in cases for the past two days.

A total 2,330  died due to the virus in India in the past 24 hours taking the total death toll to  381,903, IBNS said. 

India has been combating the deadly second wave of the pandemic for the past several months.

Meanwhile, India's active caseload declined to 826,740, the lowest after 71 days. The country's recovery rate has increased to 95.93 percent.

Weekly positivity rate remains below 5 percent, currently at 3.99 percent. Daily positivity rate at 3.48 percent, less than 5 percent for 10 consecutive days. (SAM)
