India registered a new record in Covid single-day spike and deaths with 349,000 fresh infections and 2,767 fatalities in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Sunday. The fresh infections have taken the country's total death count to 192,311.

This is the fourth straight day that India has recorded over 300,000 Covid cases and over 2,000 deaths.
The massive spike in cases continues as several states are facing a severe oxygen crisis including the national capital.

On Friday, 25 people died at Jaipur Golden Hospital due to low oxygen pressure.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also requested all chief ministers to provide oxygen to the national capital, if they have spare.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday held yet another high-level meet amid appeals from several states as patients struggle to get hospital beds and other essential facilities, IBNS said.
