About 50 percent of the Maldives Police force has received the initial dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, officials said.

Maldives Police Service said Thursday that said 50 percent of police officers have received the first dose of the vaccine, including 1676 police officers in the Greater Male’ Region.

The police said the vaccination program for police officers is ongoing and that all officers are cooperating with the vaccine program, according to avas.mv.

The Maldives is currently using the AstraZeneca vaccine manufactured by the Serum Institute of India, Covishield, in its vaccine program.
