Male: Maldives' cabinet  discussed the economic and social impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the archipelago. The discussions were held at a meeting at the president’s official residence called Mulee’aage.

According to the President’s Office, during the meeting, the cabinet discussed the impact of the global pandemic on the Maldivian economy and discussed immediate steps and future measures to be taken to minimise projected adverse effects and mitigate economic loss.

The President’s Office said cabinet members highlighted the coordinated the multi-agency effort, under the guidance of the Health Protection Agency (HPA) and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), to contain and limit the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
