Former Nepalese Queen Komal Shah, hospitalised following a COVID-19 infection, has been rushed to the Intensive Care Unit due to respiratory complications, The Himalayan Times said.

According to Thapathali-based Norvic Hospital, Komal Shah has been kept on high-flow oxygen support as her health had started deteriorating.

Komal Shah tested positive along with former King Gyanendra following their return from a trip to India where they had participated in religious rituals the Hindu festival Mahakumbh Mela.

Gyanendra and his daughter Prerana are also receiving treatment at the same hospital.
